Lead Trainer: Ms. Sandra Dillon, M.A., CALT; Director, MLTINM, is a Certified Academic Language Therapist and a Qualified Trainer and Qualified Instructor, with decades of experience at the Albuquerque Public School’s Language Clinic for Dyslexic Students. She is the author of Sounds In Syllables, an Orton-Gillingham based curriculum designed to meet the needs of bright but severely reading-impaired high school students, which has been in use for over 30 years as the core curriculum in public schools and clinics across the USA and Canada. Ms. Dillon will conduct lectures in person at MDA as well as via video throughout the duration of the programme. Course Coordinator: Ms. Masarrat Khan, M.A. (Cl. Psych); M.A. (Eng. Lit.); Dyslexia Therapist. CEO, MDA. Additional Modules by MDA staff and visiting faculty. Eligibility: Graduation in Psychology, Human Development, Child Development, Language, Education or related fields. Preference will be given to mainstream teachers, occupational and speech therapists and those already in the field of Special Education. Course Fee: Rs 55,000/- per year, inclusive of basic kit sufficient to start with the first student. Course begins on May 7th 2012 Theory and Hands-on Practice Classes from May 7th to May 22nd 2012, at MDA, Deonar. Thereafter, contact classes will be held in 5 modules of 4 days each every 2 months. Course completion certificates will be awarded by MLTI-NM and MDA jointly. Trainees are required to complete 700 hours of hands-on teaching to qualify for the ALTA certification examination.
